AVEK Builds Resiliency at Acton Pump Station
A new 480V to 4160V step-up transformer was installed at AVEK's Acton Pump Station, a Board approved Capital Project. In the event of a power outtage, the new transformer will allow the Agency to connect two of its portable 500 KW generators and pump water to its customer, Los Angeles County Waterworks District 37 in Acton.
To ensure a safe, reliable water supply, the Agency has made substantial investments to mitigate risks such as potential power shutdowns or earthquakes. The new step-up transformer builds resiliency through increased operational flexibiity.
