AVEK Staff knows the way to maintain a winning streak and they managed that again this past year through an effort that earned the Agency three President’s Special Recognition Awards from the Association of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance Authority, otherwise called the ACWA-JPIA Rate Stabilization Fund. The staff’s success garnered the Agency a refund check for $65,497.84.

ACWA-JPIA is a partnership of water agencies working together to share potential risks that often challenge water purveyors. The conglomerate formed in 1979 to provide risk-sharing pools for cost savings and offer its members the broadest possible insurance coverage for Property, Liability and Workers’ Compensation programs as well as employee benefits.

Going that extra mile to ensure a safe workplace environment proves that precautions play a vital role in reducing the risk of employee injuries while conserving Agency finances, AVEK received awards for achieving a low ratio of paid claims to deposit premiums in the Worker's Compensation, Liability, and Property Programs. Award recognition is a testment to the Agency's commitment to safety and training and ability to maintain the integrity of its facilities and assets.
