About the Water Resilience Portfolio
In April 2019, Governor Gavin Newsom signed an executive order directing 3 state agencies, the California Natural Resources Agency, the California Environmental Protection Agency, and the California Department of Food and Agriculture to develop a comprehensive strategy to build a climate-resilient water system.
The order directs that a suite of complementary actions be identified to ensure safe and resilient water supplies, flood protection, and healthy waterways for the state’s communities, economy and environment.
On January 3, 2020, the Draft 2020 Water Resilience Portfolio was released for public comment.
